Vol. 213 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ringsend (Dublin) School.

38.

asked the Minister for Education what is the amount of the grant to be paid by his Department for the new national school at Ringsend, Dublin; and what is its percentage of the total cost.

39.

asked the Minister for Education when it is intended to commence work on building a new national school in Ringsend, Dublin.

With your permission a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 38 and 39 together.

Working drawings for the proposed new national schools at Ringsend have been approved and the manager's architects have been authorised to prepare bills of quantities with a view to the invitation of tenders. I am unable to say when work on the erection of the new schools will commence.

Practice and precedent preclude me from giving the Deputy the information he seeks in regard to the local contribution towards the cost of the new school.
