Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary-Waterford Land Valuations.

2.

asked the Taoiseach the number of farmers in South Tipperary and West Waterford with land of poor law valuation of (a) under 5/-, (b) 5/- to £1, (c) £1 to £2, (d) £2 to £5, (e) £5 to £10, (f) £10 to £20, (g) £20 to £50, (h) £50 to £100, (i) £100 to £150, (j) £150 to £200, and (k) over £200.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement setting out the information requested in so far as it is available. The figures relate to the number of persons who returned their principal occupation as that of "farmer" in the 1961 Census of Population. The classification is on the basis of total rateable valuation (land and buildings) as separate particulars for the rateable valuation of land were not collected at the Census. Particulars are given for the whole of County Waterford as separate data are not available for West Waterford.

Following is the statement:—
