Vol. 213 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballymun (Dublin) Shopping Centre.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government what he proposes to do in connection with the shopping centre in the new development scheme at Ballymun; if he is going to hand the shops back to Dublin Corporation; and if not, if he is going to let them by means of public tender.

A comprehensive layout for the lands purchased by the Corporation is being prepared and will provide for shopping facilities and other amenities. When this layout is available, it will, in the first instance, be a matter for the Corporation to consider, in consultation with my Department, the extent to which they would assume responsibility for the provision of such amenities, including shops.

Would the Minister kindly speak up or is his voice gone after East Galway?

Let the Deputy not worry. If the Deputy had his ears cleaned, he might hear.
