asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will give details of total payments and the number of payments from January, 1964, to a recent date in each county, and the total for the State under the scheme of grants for calved heifers in expansion of his Department's Notes dated June, 1964.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the average number of cattle in herds the owners of which have received calved heifer subsidies.

The average number of cows, including calved heifers, in herds whose owners have received grants under the Scheme is 9. Records are not kept by my Department of the total number of cattle in each case.
