Vol. 213 No. 7

Committee on Finance. - Vote 30—Primary Education.

I move:

That a supplementary sum not exceeding £2,100,000 be granted to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1965, for Primary Education, including National School Teachers' Superannuation, etc.

We agree on this side of the House to this Estimate but I wish to put one point to the Minister. Provision is being made for visual aid in teaching equipment for secondary schools and I would ask the Minister to consider doing something on the same lines for primary schools.

Motion agreed?

Will the Minister answer the question?

The Deputy did not ask for an answer. He made a suggestion.

Above all, let not the Minister for Education take a leaf out of the book of the Minister for Transport and Power.

Vote put and agreed to.
