Vol. 213 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Electricity Voltage.

6.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he is aware of the low electricity voltage available in Sallynoggin and Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin; and if he will ensure that the voltage is increased.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that while in general the voltage in Dún Laoghaire and Sallynoggin is the normal standard voltage, there are isolated pockets in these areas where the voltage sometimes falls below normal. This is due to the fact that the demand for electricity in the areas has been growing more rapidly than was expected. The Board are taking steps to improve supply in the areas by the provision of additional sub-stations where necessary and by the reinforcement of mains.
