Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state for the latest date for which figures are available the total number of non-contributory old age pensioners and the number of such pensioners in receipt of (a) less than £1 but more than 15/- per week, (b) 15/- or less but more than 10/- per week, and (c) 10/- or less per week.

On 30th September, 1964, the latest date for which figures are available, the total number of non-contributory old age pensioners was 112,605. The numbers in the categories specified were (a) 580, (b) 552 and (c) 151, representing those receiving 17/6d., 12/6d. and 7/6d. weekly.
