Vol. 213 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pre-Medical Examinations.

42.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware that a number of students failed premedical examinations because they obtained placings which were below the number for whom class accommodation was available in the Faculty of Medicine; and whether Irish citizens must compete with alien students for limited class accommodation in the Faculty of Medicine.

My information is that all students who passed the pre-medical examination in our Medical Schools were accepted; and that no student failed because a place was not available to him or her. Accordingly, the second part of the question does not arise.
