Vol. 213 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Police Protection in Inchicore (Dublin) Area.

56.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice what action has been taken by the Garda Síochána on foot of recent representations to improve police protection of law-abiding citizens in the Inchicore area, Dublin, against interference and annoyance by a small minority of ill-behaved persons.

The Garda have supplied me with very full reports on conditions in the Inchicore area and they make it quite clear that, while a number of habitual law breakers live in the area, some of the allegations about conditions there are exaggerated.

Three extra Gardaí were recently allocated to this Garda sub-district and the Gardaí say that the detection rate for crimes committed there is satisfactory.
