Vol. 214 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pensions for Connaught Rangers.

131.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will consider applications from members of the Connaught Rangers, who mutinied during the Anglo-Irish war, for a pension allowance as many of them are now suffering from some form of disability and some are in poor circumstances.

Any person who was granted a service, wound or disability pension or a gratuity under the Connaught Rangers (Pensions) Act, 1936, is eligible for the award of a special allowance under the Army Pensions Acts provided he satisfies the statutory conditions in regard to means and age or permanent infirmity.
