The amount of motor vehicle excise duty collected by the Dublin Motor Taxation Office in the twelve months ending 31st December, 1964, was £2,656,355. This figure relates to the combined area of the city and county. A separate figure for the city is not available.

The total Road Fund allocation to Dublin Corporation for the financial year ending 31st March, 1965, to date is £522,945, to which may be added, for comparative purposes, corresponding sums of £207,673 and £79,903 allocated to Dublin County Council and Dún Laoghaire Corporation in the same period. Such grants are not allocated in respect of the calendar year.

56.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of each year since 1954 for each county and county borough (a) the number of vehicles taxed, and (b) the amount collected in road tax; and the respective totals for the whole country for each year.
