Vol. 214 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Swords (Dublin) Cottages.

67.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will make a statement regarding the delay in the completion of formalities relating to the building of 150 cottages urgently required at Swords, County Dublin.

Dublin County Council have acquired a site of 15 acres at Swords for housing purposes. The existing means of access to the site is unsatisfactory and on 1st May, 1964, the Council made a Compulsory Purchase Order for the acquisition of land to provide alternative access, and also other lands for housing purposes elsewhere in the county. Objections against the Order were received and a public local inquiry had accordingly to be held. I hope to make a decision on the Order in the near future.

Could the Minister say how soon, because this is holding up a very important development?

Inside a matter of hours, or days at the most.
