Vol. 214 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Portmarnock (Dublin) Bin Collections.

80.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the need for a twice-weekly bin collection in the Portmarnock, County Dublin area; and if he will recommend this to the local sanitary authority.

I understand that the Dublin County Council consider that there are no special circumstances which would warrant the provision of a twice-weekly bin collection in the Portmarnock area as compared with any other area where the service was reduced to enable it to be extended to other areas.

As regards the second part of the question, I could not undertake to make a recommendation that a particular area should be treated more favourably than others.
