Vol. 214 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Non-Delivery of Dublin Letters.

112.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that letters addressed to mothers of homeless families in Griffith Barracks, Dublin have been returned to the senders undelivered and marked not known when, in fact, the addressees were inhabiting the section of the Barracks assigned to homeless families by the Dublin Health Authority; and if he will ensure that steps are taken to effect delivery in all such cases in future.

Normally letters addressed to a military barracks are handed over by the delivering postman to the military authorities at the main gate and this practice has been followed at Griffith Barracks, Dublin. No complaints of the kind referred to in the question have been received by me or by my Department.
