Vol. 214 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Supplementary Housing Grants.

17.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of applications received for Dublin Corporation supplementary grants from persons anxious to make their own arrangements to provide their families with housing accommodation; and if he will state in respect of each of the last five years (1) the number of such applications (a) sanctioned (b) rejected and (c) postponed for further consideration, (2) the cause of the rejections and (3) whether any appeal is allowed for those rejected.

The statistics requested in regard to the numbers of applications for supplementary grants are not available in my Department. I have asked the Corporation if they can supply them and, if so, I will forward them to the Deputy when received.

There is no provision for an appeal against the decision of a housing authority on an application for a supplementary grant.
