Could the Minister give the total acreage in the hands of the Land Commission in County Wexford?

I am afraid I have not got it here—at least I would have to do a long tot to get it.

55.

asked the Minister for Lands the amount of land divided in County Wexford during the year ended 31st March 1964; the number of applications received therefor; and the number of successful applicants.

In County Wexford, during the year ended 31st March, 1964, an aggregate area of 856 acres was allotted by the Land Commission. There were 23 successful applicants.

It is not the practice to keep a numerical record of applications for land. Indeed, in itself, such a record might not accurately reflect the number of really qualified claimants, inasmuch as all eligible persons within the prescribed distance of acquired lands—irrespective of whether they have lodged a formal application or not—are automatically considered by the Land Commission for allotments.
