Vol. 214 No. 6

Committee on Finance. - Vote on Account, 1965-66—Issue out of Central Fund.

I move:—

That towards making good the supply granted for the service of the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1966, the sum of £74,387,400 be granted out of the Central Fund.

Is this only reporting the previous one?

We are not taking the Central Fund Bill now. We have to postpone it for a week or so until we get some Estimates through.

This relates to the issue of moneys being voted out of the Central Fund.

Does this not always come immediately before the Central Fund Bill? Is it not based on the Central Fund Bill?

Yes, that is so.

We are taking it today but we are postponing the Central Fund Bill?

The Minister may have to have another for the Supplementaries.

I do not think so.

Can the Minister give any information about when he proposes to bring in the Central Fund Bill?

I hope to introduce it in the next week and have it discussed the following week, the week before St. Patrick's Day.

Can the Minister yet indicate whether he is going to take his Budget before or after Easter?

It is more likely to be after.

As the Parliamentary Secretary to the Taoiseach will tell him, it is of importance in relation to the date of the political Party broadcasts.

We will give a definite reply on that by the time the Central Fund Bill comes in.

Question put and agreed to.
Resolution reported and agreed to.
