Vol. 214 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Killarney Memorial Park Workers.

8.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is proposed to have the 45 hour week established for the workers in the Bourn Vincent Memorial Park, Killarney.

9.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is proposed to increase the present entirely inadequate wages of the workers in the Bourn Vincent Memorial Park, Killarney.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Question Nos. 8 and 9 together:—

Workers in the Bourn Vincent Memorial Park, Killarney, are already paid a rate in excess of the minimum Agricultural Wages Board rate for the area and it is not proposed at present to increase their pay.

Workers in the Park have a 45 hour week in the Winter and a 50 hour week for the remainder of the year. The hours prescribed by the Agricultural Wages Board are 50 all the year round. A reduction in hours for the Park employees will be considered in accordance with any reduction by the Agricultural Wages Board for agricultural workers generally.

And that will be very soon, le cúnamh Dé.
