Vol. 214 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Sheepskin Pelts.

7.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state, with reference to the export of sheepskin pelts, the manner in which the exporters' returns are authenticated.

It is assumed that the Deputy is referring to the verification by the customs of export documents for sheepskin pelts.

Exporters are required to produce an export licence for the pelts, issued by the Minister for Industry and Commerce, and also an export specification showing the number, description and value of the pelts to be exported. The information given on the export specification is checked by the customs by physical examination of the pelts in the consignment.
