Vol. 215 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Improvement of Farm Roads.

15.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will reduce from ten years to five years the period in which a farmer may qualify for the improvement of a road to his farm.

If a farm road is constructed or improved with the aid of a grant and then reasonably maintained, it should not normally require further major attention within 10 years. I do not consider, therefore, that the change suggested by the Deputy would be warranted.

Question NO. 16 postponed.
