Vol. 215 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford Garda Stations.

37.

asked the Minister for Justice what is the position regarding the building of the new Garda station at (a) Waterford city and (b) Tramore, County Waterford.

In reply to a question on 16 February last, I informed the Deputy that the Commissioners of Public Works expected to invite tenders for the building of the new station in Waterford city in six to nine months' time from that date. That continues to be the position.

With regard to the new station in Tramore, I understand from the Commissioners that negotiations are still in progress with Waterford County Council and Bord Fáilte in regard to the acquisition of a suitable site.

They will never be built.

They are going to be built.
