Vol. 215 No. 5

Written Answers. - Wages of Rural Workers.

48.

asked the Taoiseach if he will furnish a table of rural workers' wages, setting out side by side, for each county, the basic weekly wages of (a) forestry workers, (b) road workers and (c) farm workers, having regard to the Agricultural Wages Board Order, 1965.

The following statement gives for each county (a) the basic weekly time rate of wages paid to forestry workers at 1 May, 1965, (b) the weekly rates of wages paid by County Councils to road labourers at 1 May, 1965 and (c) the average minimum weekly rates payable to adult male agricultural workers as from the 24 May, 1965, under the Agricultural Wages (Minimum Rates) Order, 1965. In the case of forestry workers an incentive bonus is payable in addition to the basic time rate.
