Vol. 215 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Rate Levy.

17.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has seen the press reports in regard to the manner in which the rate in the pound for the coming year has been determined by the Cork Corporation by means of borrowing a sum of money in excess of £100,000 to reduce their rate levy; if he has approved of the necessary borrowing for the purpose; and if he approves generally of this method for the reduction of rates by other local authorities.

I have seen the press report referred to. The answer to the remaining parts of the question is "No".
