Vol. 215 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rush (Dublin) Estate.

21.

asked the Minister for Lands whether any arrangements are in train to provide Dublin County Council with portion of the Palmer Estate at Rush, County Dublin, for the purpose of cottage building; and, if so, what stage has been reached in this matter.

The Land Commission have decided to make portion of this estate available to the Dublin County Council for building purposes. Discussions in this matter will be entered into with the county council at an early date.

Could the Minister say what is the total area set aside for county council purposes?

That is one of the matters to be discussed between my officials and those of the county council. The county council on 1st April applied for an area of 34 acres, 15 of which are arable. In so far as the Land Commission can do so, they will meet the council's wishes and I think there will be sufficient land to satisfy the requirements of the council.
