Vol. 215 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballyclough (Cork) Dispensary Doctor.

30.

asked the Minister for Health the causes of the delay in appointing a dispensary doctor in Ballyclough dispensary district, County Cork; and when he expects this appointment to be made.

Mr. O'Malley

No proposal has yet been submitted to my Department by the Cork Health Authority for the filling of the permanent post as district medical officer, Ballyclough dispensary district. I understand that the submission of a proposal has been deferred pending consideration by the health authority of the desirability of altering the boundaries of the district, which is relatively small, with a population of approximately 1,500.

I am informed that it is proposed to discuss the matter at a meeting of the health authority to be held on Monday next 10th instant. Any proposal submitted to my Department as a result of such discussion will be dealt with at once.
