Vol. 215 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Tipperary Cottages.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the number of applications from North Tipperary County Council for sanction of plans for the erection of cottages which he has at present under consideration in his Department; if he will state in each case (a) the date on which he received the plans for sanction and (b) when he expects to come to a decision; and if, particularly in the case of plans for the erection of cottages at Tullow, he will do his utmost to expedite sanction.

Proposals to erect eight cottages at Tullow were submitted on 23rd November last. The layout was not considered satisfactory and on 9th March last an inspector of my Department conveyed to the county engineer suggestions for an improved layout based on alternative designs, the layout to be adopted depending on the future development of the adjoining areas. A revised layout has not since been received and the inspector was requested some time ago to raise the matter again with the county engineer. He proposes to do so this week. There are no other cottage schemes in the county health district awaiting sanction.
