Applications for essential repairs grants under section 5 of the Housing (Loans and Grants) Act, 1962, are made in the first instance to the county council. It is understood that a total of 273 applications have been made to the Sligo County Council. Of these 121 cases have been certified by the council and sent to my Department and grants have been allocated in all these cases. Of the remainder, 131 cases are still under examination by the council, ten applications were withdrawn, nine were rejected and in two cases the applicants were rehoused by the council.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of ex-TB patients who have applied for rehousing in County Sligo; and what the results have been.
