Vol. 215 No. 15

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 12, 4, 13—Votes 40 and 37. If not already reached, it is proposed to interrupt business between 1 and 2.30 to take No. 13—Vote 37—and to resume the order after questions taking No. 13—Vote 40—first. Questions will be taken at 2.30 p.m.

I wonder would it be possible for the Taoiseach, even if it is not feasible, to announce at this stage, the programme for the rest of the session, at least to give an indication for a reasonable period ahead? I do not know whether the Taoiseach is aware that there is a sheaf of revised Estimates which, I imagine, arise out of changes in the Budget. It is difficult at this stage to say whether or not these will require to be discussed again.

They are not exactly revised Estimates. They are Estimates which were passed by the previous Dáil but not reported.

The Industry and Commerce Estimate is certainly a revised one. At present it is difficult to plan with any reasonable assurance on the basis of what will be taken from week to week. Could the Taoiseach ensure that at least we could settle the business for possibly a fortnight or three weeks ahead and let the other business follow?

I shall see what can be done. It is very difficult to work to a pre-set programme over a long period but we will see what can be done to give the Deputy all the information possible.
