Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Effects on Fish of Nuclear Fall-out.

47.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether any investigations have been carried out as to the possible effects of nuclear fall-out on the fish population of Irish rivers; and, if so, what were the results of such investigations.

Tests have been carried out on fish from one high rainfall area and two low rainfall areas. The results indicate that nuclear fall-out has had no appreciable effect so far on the stocks of fish in Irish rivers.
