Vol. 216 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois Estate.

22.

asked the Minister for Lands the position regarding the acquisition by the Land Commission of the Chetwood-Aiken Estate at Woodbrook, Laois.

In 1963, following the withdrawal by the late owner's elderly widow of an objection to acquisition of this estate, the Land Commission made an Order the effect of which was to place a stay on their acquisition proceedings for her lifetime.

Just now, however, certain discussions affecting the property are pending but these must be treated as confidential.
