asked the Minister for Finance if he can give any estimate of the amount withdrawn from (a) prize bonds, (b) post office savings bank, and (c) savings certificates for the purpose of being subscribed to the recent issue of National Bonds.
It is estimated that the amounts withdrawn from Prize Bonds and the Post Office Savings Bank for reinvestment in National Bonds were £25,000 and £200,000 respectively. So far as can be seen there was no encashment of Savings Certificates for reinvestment in the Bonds.
