Vol. 216 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Pier Facilities.

31.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will have repairs and extensions carried out to the pier and port near Inver, County Donegal, to enable lorries to turn there and to facilitate fishermen in discharging their fish.

The pier at Port, Inver, was improved in 1957-59 at a cost of £2,855 and a winch was provided in 1962 at a cost of £55.

It is not considered that the additional cost of widening the pier to permit lorries to use it would be justified by the extent of the fishing activities in the area at present.
