asked the Minister for Local Government the cost of a standard four roomed (a) house or (b) flat built by the Dublin Corporation in each year from 1957 to 1965, inclusive.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

(a) The above information has been supplied by Dublin Corporation.

(b) The figures quoted are all-in-costs of four roomed dwellings in schemes tendered for in the years in question. There has been no one standard plan for either four roomed flats or four roomed houses during the period.

(c) No four roomed flats were tendered for in the years 1962, 1963 or 1965.

asked the Minister for Local Government the average cost of building dwelling houses (a) by local authorities and (b) by private builders per square foot in each of the years 1948, 1957, 1961, and 1965.
