Vol. 216 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Industrial Development.

47.

asked the Minister for Local Government what areas in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown constituency the local authority contemplates setting aside for light industry development.

As regards the part of the constituency in Dublin county, I understand that sites for light industry have been reserved mainly at Cornelscourt, Pottery Road and Kill Avenue, with lesser reservations at Newtown Park Avenue and near Windy Arbour.

In Dún Laoghaire there are sites for light industry in the town centre and at Sallynoggin with smaller areas in other locations.

I cannot say what zoning or other provision the authorities concerned will make for industry in the development plans which they, in common with all other planning authorities, are obliged to make within three years under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, or in the provisional plans which I have asked planning authorities to prepare for all built-up areas as a first step towards the statutory plans and as a guide to development in the years immediately ahead.
