asked the Minister for Local Government what central funds are available for all main road development in the County Dublin and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown areas.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

Table showing Road Fund grants allocated to Dublin County Council, and Dún Laoghaire Borough Corporation, for the financial year, 1965-66.

Note

(1) Road Fund grants are allocated by reference to local authority districts. The districts shown in the table correspond with the total area to which the question relates.

(2) The Special Grant shown in the Table has been allocated for improvements to the arterial road, Dublin—Naas and is related to the estimated expenditure thereon in the current financial year. This sum has been provided out of a special allocation of £500,000 for arterial road improvements in the Dublin area.

(3) In addition to the sums shown in the table, both the Dublin County Council and Dún Laoghaire Borough Corporation receive annual allocations from the Employment Schemes Vote, which may be used for, inter alia, road works. The allocations for the current financial year have not yet been determined.
