16.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received from Waterford Corporation a proposal for the erection of 208 houses at Lisduggan; and, if so, when he expects that work will commence.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 15 and 16 together.

A proposal for the erection by direct labour of 33 houses at Rockenham has been approved and the corporation's application for sanction to the raising of the necessary loan is under consideration. The corporation's proposal to accept a tender for 208 houses and the development of 56 private sites at Lisduggan is under examination by the Department's technical advisers. I am not in a position to say when work is likely to be commenced on the schemes.
