Vol. 218 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Notification of Price Increases.

34.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what notifications, if any, have been received to proposed price increases since the making of the Prices Stabilisation Order.

Since the notice of 27th October, 1965, under the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1965, requiring three months' notice of any proposals by manufacturers to increase prices and by importers and wholesalers to increase margins, 30 notifications of proposed price increases have been received. These proposals are under examination in my Department.

Did the Minister say 30 have been received?

Can the Minister give us any idea of the type of commodities?

They are variable.

Can the Minister give the names?

I do not think it would be desirable.
