asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the total amount spent on the bovine tuberculosis eradication scheme from the inception of the scheme in 1954 until its completion this year.

The net cost, including salaries, is estimated at £34,500,000. In addition, the expenditure under the Export Guarantee Payments Scheme which operated from July, 1960, to March, 1962, came to approximately £4,620,000.
