Vol. 219 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois-Tipperary Forestry Workers.

65.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will consider the setting up of a new forestry gang to deal with the Clonmeen bog area on the borders of Laois and Tipperary, in view of the fact that at present the nearest forestry worker to this job lives eleven miles away.

It is not proposed to set up a new forestry gang to deal with lands acquired for planting at Clonmeen Bog. The number of gangs at present employed at Templemore forest are adequate to deal with work there and a new gang could only be created by laying of an existing gang.
