Vol. 219 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Public Transport.

6.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power what steps will be taken to carry out an investigation into public transport, both omnibus and railway traffic, in Dublin with a view to supplementing the recently completed private traffic investigation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I assume the Deputy refers to the report recently submitted to Dublin Corporation by the traffic consultant engaged by them to carry out a road traffic survey of the city and make recommendations with regard to the future road traffic network therein.

Until such time as decisions on the main street network recommended in the report have been taken it would be premature to undertake the supplementary investigation into public transport traffic suggested by the consultant.
