Vol. 219 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Government Advertising.

9.

asked the Minister for Finance the system used for the placing of contracts for Government advertising.

There is a service contract with one advertising agent for plain advertisements for all Departments. Individual Departments make their own arrangements in relation to all other types of advertising. For example, as far as my Department is concerned, the contractor for plain advertisements handles advertising for National Loans. In the case of Prize Bonds, however, agents are invited to tender for advertising campaigns to publicise the Bonds in newspapers, posters, television, etc.
