Vol. 219 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Biology Text Books.

167.

asked the Minister for Education whether, following the introduction of biology to the curriculum of the schools' programme in 1966, his Department have taken steps to have the necessary text books available for such a course, as it is felt among teaching organisations that text books of other countries are not suitable here.

The provision of text books for schools is normally undertaken by private publishers and not by my Department. In the particular case of biology, I understand that suitable text books are available.
