asked the Taoiseach if he will give figures for each of the years 1950 to 1960 corresponding to those given in table 18 of the NIEC Report on the Economic Situation, 1965.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Real Income Statistics.
I propose, with your permission, Sir, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the information requested by the Deputy. The figures for 1961-1964 are also shown in the table and, in order to facilitate comparison over the whole period, the figures are also given to base 1950=100. The Central Statistics Office does not endorse the basic method of computation used and merely provides the data as requested by the Deputy.
Following is the statement:

NOTES:
(1) The data on real income are derived from the net product at current factor cost attributable to each sector in the national accounts, deflated in each case by the consumer price index.
(2) The data on sectoral real income per person are derived from sectoral real income, as defined in (1), divided by the number of occupied persons in the sector as given in table 15 of Economic Statistics, 1965.
