Vol. 220 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Santry (Dublin) Houses.

27.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that on 22nd January 1965 the members of a housing authority were informed by the manager that 57 applications covering 277 persons had been made for 26 houses at Santry; and that it was expected that Dublin Corporation would be in a position in the early future to indicate the portion of lands being acquired in the Ballymun area by them to be designated for the use of the housing authority; and if he is in a position to explain the delay in assigning part of these lands to the housing authority in view of the corporation's refusal to provide drainage for a housing scheme at Santry Court before the sale of the public authority lands.

I understand that the information set out in the first part of the Deputy's question was given to the members of the county council on the date stated. It would appear from the information at my disposal that there is some misunderstanding between the two authorities in regard to this matter and I have asked the City and County Manager to give it his early attention.
