Vol. 221 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Credit Corporation Bonds.

24.

asked the Minister for Finance the amount subscribed to the Agricultural Credit Corporation Limited to the latest available date for their public issue of bonds; and whether any part of such amount so subscribed has been invested by the Corporation in Exchequer Bills or in ways and means advances to the Exchequer.

As in the case of deposits, about which I replied to a question by Deputy T. O'Donnell on 16th February, the corporation consider, and I agree, that information about the amount invested in bonds should not be disclosed more frequently than is required under section 5 (4) of the Agricultural Credit Act, 1961, that is, at the end of each financial year.

As regards the second part of the question, the net amounts received from the issue of these bonds is used in full by the corporation to finance loans to agriculture.
