Vol. 221 No. 8

Written Answers. - Telephone Call Charges

80.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will explain how at least one telephone subscriber (name supplied) in the Dunboyne area has been variously charged 1/-, 1/6d. and 2/- for calls to Navan, Duleek and Drogheda whereas in a reply of 25th January, 1966, he stated that the correct charge for such calls was 3d.; if he will ensure that the correct charge is made by the appropriate officers of his Department; and if he will now arrange to have supplied to the subscriber in question the detailed list of calls promised to him by an officer of his Department on 17th November, 1965.

The tickets for all trunk calls charged to the telephone referred to have been examined back to 1st April, 1965, and they include none on which any over-charge occurred. I am satisfied that the arrangements for ensuring correct charging are satisfactory.

Concerning the final part of the question, the subscriber asked for a list of trunk calls which had been incorrectly charged but, in fact, there were no such calls.
