A grant has been sanctioned by my Department towards the cost of erecting a new school at Glencastle, Bunnahowen, Ballina, County Mayo, to replace the existing Glencastle national school and a small neighbouring school. The Commissioners of Public Works expect to be in a position to invite tenders for the building of the new school within the next few weeks.
