I understand from Dublin Corporation that the flags and bunting were purchased at a cost of £4,953 16s. 3d. from two firms from among the known suppliers of these items in Dublin who had been invited to submit quotations. As the purchase of such items is an executive function, the question of a decision by a committee of the corporation did not arise.
