Vol. 222 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Invitations to GPO Ceremonies.

1.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Taoiseach if he will give the names of all those invited to be present on the GPO reviewing stand at the reading of the 1916 Proclamation and the names of those who attended.

As I said in reply to questions addressed to me in this House on the 27th April, 1966, invitations to be present on the platform at the GPO, Dublin, for the ceremony on last Easter Sunday morning were issued to the surviving participants in the Easter Rising, 1916. I do not propose to give their names, as there would be over 900 involved.

The names of those who were present on the platform were not recorded.
