Vol. 223 No. 3

Tea (Purchase and Importation) (Amendment) Bill, 1966—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to provide for the importation of extracts, essences and concentrations of tea and for that purpose to amend the Tea (Purchase and Importation) Act, 1958, and the Customs Consolidation Act, 1876.—(Minister for Industry and Commerce.)

What does it relate to?

It relates to the importation of tea from Britain as affected by the Free Trade arrangement and brings it into line with the importation of tea from the country of origin.

Does this mean we can bring in tea from London?

It refers to instant tea.

I do not give a damn where we bring that in from.

Second Stage ordered for Tuesday, 21st June, 1966.
